What do you need?

  • Loops are made to repeat continuously and are generally brief and focused, specifically designed for installation in interpretive exhibits. We can produce digital video loops, and also audio only loops.
  • Shorts  are  often  intended  primarily for webcast but they can also  be designed for large screen  viewing,  and work well as provocations for  discussion in classroom  or conference use.
  • Research Archive DVs  are typically  lightly edited and finished versions of  filmed interviews and location records or even compilations of archival footage which have been given basic indexing, titling and credits. They are  intended  to preserve visual data and some project context for longer term uses and most likely eventual re-editing or other adaptive re-use by the client. To date our work in this area has included oral histories,  conference documentation and  compilation of background footage for research and ongoing topical  enquiries that need extensive treatment.
  • Raw Digital Video is  the undigested full visual data collected in a project  that few filmmakers provide to clients and may not even even keep themselves once a project is edited.  As an ethnographic and archaeological film workshop, we do keep raw DV safety copies archived  for at least a year after final cut is agreed and a project is ended unless instructed otherwise, and we can provide a full copy of all raw material as part of the original contract if needed. For most clients however, the Research Archive DVD where this footage is lightly edited (and can be arranged or  indexed by topic if necessary) will be more useful.
  • Long Form or “Feature Length”  Documentaries  (30-90 minutes)  Clients who are interested in commissioning long form documentaries for broadcast or large screen viewing need to contact us early in their planning process to discuss pre-production development, funding, scheduling,  target audience and technical needs. These  projects normally require a more complex crew and special production planning and services.
  • Locative Media: Heritage  Site and Cultural Trail Apps – We can provide research and development services for location based media, preparing  visual content, and  scripts for heritage sites or local cultural trails.  We  help you chose the most effective tools for delivery depending on the site and your budget.
  • Crowd Funding Pitches- We can help you make a short punchy pitch film or trailer for use in developing a  grant application or a funding campaign. We will work with you and the platform provider you choose to find the right approach.
  • Multimedia-   We can prepare multi media sites, installations  and products that meet your needs if you provide the original artwork, sound files etc with appropriate consents and copyright.
